Zambia,China relations result in creation of 4,000 jobs

 

VINCENT-MWALE-Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Vincent Mwale says bilateral relations between Zambia and China have resulted in the creation over of four thousand jobs in the country.

Speaking when the visiting Vice president of the Development Research Center of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Dr. Long Gouqiang paid a courtesy call on, Mr.  Mwale says China has over 320 developmental projects in Zambia which have led to the creation of the four thousand jobs.

Mr. Mwale states Zambia would now be in a position to emulate China’s unprecedented development so that the country may be able to be self reliant instead of relying on Chinese investment.

He however, states that the country must be able to boost its own production capacity if the economy is to thrive.

Meanwhile the minister has expressed gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for keeping TAZARA alive, as it has contributed towards enhancing trade between Zambia and its neighboring countries.

And speaking through an interpreter Dr. Gouqiang has noted that relations between Zambia and China have led to more areas of development between the two countries.

He says his country will continue providing Zambian lawmakers with advice on how certain policies may alter the development of the country positively.

Dr Gouqiang says China is interested in collaborating and learning from other countries like Zambia, in terms of development and cultural transmission.
