Mexico desires to invest in Zambia

The Mexican Government has expressed its desire to explore investment opportunities in Zambia.

Speaking when Embassy of Mexico Deputy Head of Mission Maco Negrete paid a courtesy call on Charge ‘D’ affairs at the Zambia embassy in Ethiopia Samson Mujuda, Mr. Negrete says the Mexican government wants to find ways in which it can invest and partner with Zambia in order to enhance Zambia’s  economic development.

He says the Mexican government is now looking at opening more embassies in African countries in order to build bilateral ties.

Mr. Negrete says there are many investors in Mexico who would want to invest in Zambia hence his call on the mission to get details of the investment environment in the Zambia.

He also disclosed that Mexico is offering scholarships for diplomats and students in different fields.

And Charge ‘D’ Affaires at the Zambia Embassy in Addis Ababa, Samsom Mujuda says Zambia is a safe investment destination.

He says the Zambian government has sufficient instruments in place that protect people’s investment and at the same time conform to international standards.

Mr Mujuda also says Zambia is ready to partner with investors from Mexico.

The countries of extra accreditation of the Addis Ababa Mission of Mexico are Zambia, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibuti and South Sudan.
