Lungu won’t interfere in Maize Price

lunguPresident Edgar Lungu says he will not interfere with the maize price set by the Food Reserve Agency.

The Food Reserve Agency has announced that it will buy a 50kg bag of maize at K60 compared to the K85 it was the same quantity last year.

President Lungu says the price is determined by the market and that no one should politicize the matter.

He has told journalists before departure to Luapula province at City Airport that there must be a bargaining process between the buyer and the seller.

President Lungu is in Luapula Province for a three-day visit and to open the “Luapula Expo”, which hopes to attract US$17 billion in investment.
