A team of doctors constituted to separate Siamese twins- Chilufya

twinsHealth Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya says a team of doctors has been constituted to separate the Siamese twins joined on the stomach who are admitted to the University Teaching Hospital.

The Siamese twins were born two months ago.

Dr Chilufya has told journalists that the twins will be separated once they are about six to nine months old.

He adds that the twins are well, attributing this to the improved level of healthcare being provided at the health institution.

Dr Chilufya said this when he visited the Siamese twins yesterday.

Meanwhile UTH Senior Medical Superintendent Dr Clarence Chiluba says progress has been made in the construction of the elderly people’s section at the hospital.

Dr Chiluba has stated that the setting up of the elderly people’s section is meant to further decongest the hospital and also ensure that the elderly are offered special healthcare.
