ECZ urged to adopt electronic voting system in the next election-NAREP

Opposition national restoration party (narep) spokesperson Bwalya Nondo has called on the electoral commission of Zambia to consider adopting the electronic voting system in the next general election in 2021 so as to address electoral dispute management.

Mr. Nondo says other countries like the united states of America, Botswana and south Africa have already adopted such a system and is working very well for their electoral process.

He says government must pick up lessons from the 2016 general elections electoral dispute and begin to prepare for an electoral system which will end unnecessary disputes.

He has noted the need to involve stakeholders in the reformation of the electoral commission of Zambia and subsequent adoption of the electronic voting system as a country.

Mr. Nondo has stated that an electronic voting system will ensure for transparency in the electoral process.
