HEALTH Minister Chitalu Chilufya has warned members of public against speculating and issuing false statements on the condition of first republican president Dr Kenneth Kaunda.

This follows rumors on social media yesterday indicating that the former president who is admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) had died.

Dr Chilufya has told journalists at UTH where he went to visit the first republican president that he is stable and recuperating very well.

He adds that Dr Kaunda is in high spirits.

He says the former president has been kept under admission to allow him to fully recuperate, and for doctors to attend to an old joint ailment.

Dr Chilufya says Dr Kaunda will remain admitted until doctors attending to him certify him stable enough to be discharged.
