ACC conclude Kambwili graft probe

The Anti Corruption Commission says it has concluded investigations into allegations of corruption against former information and broadcasting services Minister Chishimba Kambwili.

ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono has told a media briefing that the commission is analyzing the findings before the next course of action is taken.

Moono ACCMr Moono is hopeful that the commission will conclude analyzing the findings as soon as possible.

He has also disclosed that investigations into allegations of corruption against former National Saving and Credit Bank (NATSAV) Managing Director Cephas Chabu have also been concluded and that the matter has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for further action.

And Mr Moono says investigations into the government to government maize deal between Zambia and Malawi have established that there was no abuse office in the manner the transaction was conducted by Zambian officials.

He says the investigations have since been closed.

Meanwhile Mr. Moono says the commission received a total of 205 reports of suspected cases of corruption during the second quarter of 2017.

He says out of these cases,127 reports did not contain elements of corruption ,while 78 reports contained elements of corruption and 48 were authorized for investigations.
