CAWUZ appeals to Lungu to reinstate workers retired in national interest

The Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (CAWUZ) has appealed to President Edgar Lungu to consider reinstating all the civil servants who were recently retired in national interest.

CAWUZ President Davy Chiyobe has told QTV News in an interview that some of the civil servants retired in national interest are professionals who can still add value to the public service.

Mr. Chiyobe says the Head of State should consider forgiving those retired in national interest so that they can continue serving the nation.

Meanwhile Mr Chiyobe has advised civil servants to stay away from active politics.

He says public service workers should desist from engaging in active politics considering the consequences that come with such acts.
