A bus carrying Church members was today involved in an accident along Kafue Road after hitting into a Shalom Bus in front leaving 49 passengers injured.

A company of three Churches UCZ, RCZ and Anglican churches were on their way to a sports gala in Lilayi  when the accident happened near former Vuma Filling Station.

And UTH Public Relations Officer Natalie Mashikolo has confirmed the development in a statement that the accident happened around 10:00 hours along Kafue road.

Ms Mashikolo says the driver of the Rosa bus was trying to avoid a cyclist and it was then that he hit into a Shalom Bus that was in front and that’s when the bus overturned.

She says there were 49 passengers in total.

She discloses that 15 have been discharged  adding that 13 are still admitted with one who has his lower limbs badly injured.
