The Advisory Board for the National House of Prayer has called for a national day of prayer on Sunday,9th July,2017 in the wake of destructive activities that have affected many families and strategic national installations of late.

In a statement, Advisory board Chairman Bishop Joshua Banda says there need for the nation to demonstrate a sense of unity at a time like this by standing side by side in prayer, friendship and love for one another.

Bishop Banda says in Lusaka the prayers will be held at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross from 15hrs to 17hrs.

He has called on all the provinces, through provincial coordinators to dedicate this particular Sunday afternoon to cooperate international prayer for the nation.

Bishop Banda has further appealed that the next period until 18th October be dedicated to consistent prayer for peace and prosperity of the nation.

He has also stressed the need continue harnessing efforts towards sustained national dialogue guided by the common commitment to biblical ideals of repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation.

And Bishop Banda has pledged solidarity with the people who lost property during the inferno that gutted City market.

He says they are earnestly praying that relevant state organs will be thorough in carrying out required processes of gathering data to determine how assistance may be channeled to those affected.
