Spanish King willing to support Zambia’s development

King Felipe the Sixth of Spain has expressed willingness to support Zambia’s developmental agenda.

Speaking when Zambia’s Ambassador to France who is also accredited to Spain Humphrey Chibanda presented letters of credence, King Felipe commended Zambia for practicing economic diplomacy by co-operating with other countries.

He also joined the rest of the world in toasting President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s re-election Victory.

Earlier, Ambassador Chibanda pledged to work with the Spanish government to promote and enhance relations between the two countries.

He noted that the bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries have been modest, but noted the steady increase in bilateral trade in the last 5 years.

Mr Chibanda also reminded the Spanish King of Zambia’s collaboration with the Camara Madrid, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry as avenues that could further improve the commercial ties between the two countries.

He expressed confidence that Zambia and the Kingdom of Spain will consider exploiting possible areas of bilateral cooperation such as Agriculture, Tourism, Health and Renewable Energy to further enhance relations.

Meanwhile Ambassador Chibanda has noted the growing bilateral relations between Zambia and Serbia, as evidenced by the strong economic relations both Countries have built.

Mr. Humphrey Chibanda has however, observed that there is still a lot that both countries can do to explore untapped opportunities.

Ambassador Chibanda was in Belgrade, capital of Serbia when he attend the inauguration ceremony of President – elect Aleksandar Vucic on behalf of President Edgar Lungu on 23rd June,2017.

At least 5, 000 guests attended the ceremony that was held at the Palace of Serbia.
