Implementation of 7NDP should be basis of poverty alleviation – Nkonde

Network for Poverty Reduction Zambia has observed the need for the country to use the implementation of the recently launched 7^th National Development Plan as a basis for extreme poverty alleviation.

Network Executive Director Reul Nkonde notes that while Zambia has good plans to reduce poverty, what is lacking is proper implementation.

Mr. Nkonde tells Q-News that the country has failed to make an impact on poverty reduction even with good components in the previous development plans because of lack of implementation on the part of those in government.

He states that the 7NDP should act as a focal point upon which the country will make strides towards reducing the high poverty levels in the country.
