Presidential aide Chanda appears in court

Presidential press Aide Amos and Daily Nation proprietor Richard Sakala this morning appeared in the Lusaka Magistrate for contempt of court.

This is in matter in which incarcerated UPND leader Hakainde has sued Mr Chanda and Mr Sakala for contempt arising from remarks the presidential press aide made and published by the Daily Nation newspaper touching on the UPND leader’s treason case.

The matter could however not proceed after both teams of lawyers applied that matter be adjourned to 5th July, 2017 for plea and summons extended for the accused.

Magistrate Felix Kaoma has since adjourned the matter to 5^th July, 2017 for plea.

Mr Chanda and Mr Sakala’s team of lawyers is being led by Eric Silwamba while Jack Mwiimbu is leading the team of lawyers for Mr Hichilema.
