Party for National Unity (PNU) President Highvie Hamududu has observed that poverty is what has fueled tension in the country’s political realm.
Mr. Hamududu has told QTV news in an interview that people are agitated by high poverty levels in the country, which has contributed to the political divide.
He says people are irritable due to high unemployment and inequalities.
He says there is need for government to work on measures that will bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in society.
He has further stated that the media has also contributed to fueling the said tension by not giving attention to factors that contribute to the economic stability of the nation.
Mr. Hamududu has since urged the media in the country to also give priority to real issues other than politics.
