FFTUZ saddened by continued casualisation of labour

The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) is saddened by the continued engagement of workers on casual basis by some employers despite the practice being outlawed.

FTUZ President Chingati Msiska has attributed this to lack of a systematic way of monitoring the ban on casualization and inspection.

Mr. Msiska has since appealed to affected workers to report such practices to the ministry of Labour so as to help the successful the implementation of the Casualization law.

Meanwhile Mr. Msiska has expressed concern over the lack of job opportunities for the youth in the country.

He has since urged the government to take steps to address this problem.

Mr. Msiska says if the situation is not addressed, it could lead to a rise in crime in future, hence the urgent need for government to do something about the situation.
