FAZ probes Walter Bwalya

Walter Bwalya NkanaThe Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has instituted investigations into the transfer of Nkana football club striker Walter Bwalya.

FAZ Communications Manager Desmond Katongo in a statement says the Association is already in full receipt of a letter of complaint filed by Lusaka Dynamos football club.

Katongo however, states that FAZ will only be able to state clearly its position on this matter once the findings are concluded.

He says FAZ is conducting the investigations into the case with the full support of the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT).

Former Lusaka Dynamos Chief Executive Officer Simataa Simataa had written to FAZ questioning the eligibility of Walter Bwalya to play in the Zambian Super League without an International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Simataa stated that Lusaka Dynamos investigations revealed that Walter once played in the Democratic Republic of Congo for Corbaux FC in the 2010-2011 season and Lubumbashi Sports FC in 2012 under the name Heriter Binene Sabwa.

The player however denied being Heriter Sabwa, insisting he is Zambian and holder of a green NRC.

But the Immigration department has said the player is a Congolese and was issued with a resident permit.
