Frank Bwalya disowns online report

Patriotic Front Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya has dismissed as a fabrication media reports in which he is quoted to have condemned the Police for blocking the UPND’s Kanyama rally.

Mr. Bwalya says he did not issue the statement circulating online in which he purportedly labeled the Police as being unprofessional for stopping the UPND rally from taking place.

In an interview QTV News, Mr. Bwalya has challenged online media publications to provide evidence that he authored the statement they are circulating.

He says the PF’s position that the Police should be autonomous in their operations has not changed for him to condemn them for executing their mandate.

Mr Bwalya says this is why he personally does not think the Police have been acting on instructions to block the UPND from holding rallies in the country.

And Mr. Bwalya says the PF is not surprised by the murder of Stephen Kalipa who was stabbed with a knife after the Police stopped the UPND from holding a rally in Kanyama on Sunday.

Mr. Bwalya says his party believes that the murder of Kalipa was allegedly an act of venting out anger by the UPND for having lost the August 2016 general election.

He has urged the Police to pursue the matter thoroughly and bring all culprits to book.
