Buffaloes rally to hold hosts Dynamos

Stalemates were the order of the day on day-one of the Lusaka Dynamos four club pre-season tournament on Tuesday, at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The three-day tournament has attracted Lusaka clubs Red Arrows, Napsa Stars,Green Buffaloes and host Dynamos ahead of the 2017 FAZ Super League Season that kicks off on April 8.

In the lunchtime kickoff, Buffaloes rallied twice to hold the hosts to a 2-2 draw.

DR Congo striker Chris Mugalu, netted a brace for his new club Dynamos, while Felony Sitonya and Happy Kaunda were on target for Buffaloes.

The ex-Lupopo striker opened scores in the fifth minute, before Sitonya equalised via a penalty in the 30th minute to see the two sides go 1-1 into the break.

Mulagu put Dynamos back ahead in the 65th minute but, Kaunda fired in a late long-range effort to ensure they shared top spot in the round-robin tournament.

And in the later kickoff, Arrows and Npasa finished 0-0.

Napsa, though, missed an opportunity to go top of the log when Fred Musende failed to convert a 35th minute penalty.

On Wednesday, Dynamos face Napsa and Buffaloes take on Arrows in the late afternoon match.

The tournament ends on March 30.
