Unionized ZNBC workers have staged a sit-in protest over delayed payment of their salaries.

A QTV News crew that rushed to Mass Media Complex this morning found the protesting workers outside their offices.

Speaking on behalf of the workers, Zambia Union of Broadcasters and other Information Disseminators (ZUBID) President Chomba Yumbe said the workers are now fade up with management.

Mr. Yumbe says the workers who had been receiving their salaries on the 21st of every month are now getting their salaries at latest on 26th of every month.

He has wondered how management expects the workers to meet their daily needs with such continued delayed payment of their salaries.

Mr. Yumbe states that given the fact that things seem not to be improving at the national broadcaster, his union is now left with no choice by to seek intervention from the government.

But ZNBC Corporate Affairs Manager Masuzyo Ndhlovu has assured the workers that management is looking into their concerns.

Mr. Masuzyo has told QTV News by telephone from Livingstone that to this effect, management has been in talks since yesterday on the workers concerns.

He says this is notwithstanding the challenge of poor liquidity the corporation is currently going through.
