Former UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says the alleged attacks on the Speaker of National Assembly Dr. Patrick Matibini by UPND President Hakainde Hichilema are an assault on Zambia’s democracy and an indictment of poor judgment on the UPND leader.

Mr. Lifwekelo is advising and cautioning the leader of UPND to exercise maximum restrain and learn to be led.

Mr. Lifwekelo says being obstinate and loud and attacking anyone will not make Mr. Hakainde president but that he must humble himself.

He says the alleged attack on speaker of parliament if found to be true must be met with the full force of the law.

Mr. Lifwekelo says calling the speaker a PF cadre is not only an assault on democracy but an indictment on Hakainde immaturity and poor judgment.

Meanwhile, Mr. Lifwekelo says Mr. Hichilema’s unwarranted attacks on former president Rupiah Banda on his invitation to Morocco just confirms the bitterness that the UPND Leader holds for the former Head of State.

He claims that since he just came from the UPND, he is aware of the hatred that Mr. Hichilema has for Mr. Banda saying he thinks the former president caused him to lose twice to President Lungu.
