The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) says there is need for stakeholders to critically and objectively reflect on the subject of the formation of Multiple Law Societies.

ZCSD Executive Secretary Lewis Mwape says his organization feels the bill moved by PF Kasama central Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa is misplaced.

Mr. Mwape says the pluralism of Law societies will weaken the roles and mandate of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ), adding that the nation will end up compromising professionalism of the legal fraternity as any political party may create its own law society for ill intentions.

Mr. Mwape tells QTV News that if there are complaints against individuals in LAZ, there are credible organs within LAZ to deal with such matters.

He has since called on Members of Parliament to rise above pettiness and focus on legislation of development in the house rather than using the house to defend party interests by removing all instruments of good governance in order rip the national integrity.
