Housing and Infrastructure Minister Ronald Chitotela says time has come to find means of developing infrastructure in the most sustainable and cost effective manner.

Speaking during a forum on cost effective school infrastructure in Lusaka today, Mr Chitotela says this will enable the government to deliver even more to the people of Zambia.

He has also encouraged players in the construction industry to invest in research on low cost infrastructure development as these have the potential of providing answers to the industry on the best possible way of constructing cost effective infrastructure.

Mr Chitotela, however, stated that in seeking ways of cost effective infrastructure construction and design, at no point should quality be compromised.

He adds that reducing the cost of constructing schools means more schools can then be constructed and education will no longer be a preserve of the few.
