PEP bemoans absence of opposition voice

Patriots for Economic Progress (PEP) has noted with regret the absence of a voice of reason from the opposition to hold the PF Government accountable.

PEP President Sean Tembo says this vacuum has largely been created by the failure of the opposition UPND to discharge its responsibilities as the main opposition political party in Zambia.

Mr. Tembo notes that when the main opposition political party boycotts taking part in the governance of the country, it is the common citizen that suffers.

He says there is need for the opposition to be consistent in providing quality checks and balances to the party in power.

Mr. Tembo says the opposition UPND ought to know and understand that the people are expecting a lot from them and thus the need to be real in providing the much needed checks and balances.
