Post newspaper liquidation fraudulent – Tayali

Economic and Equity Party (EEP) president Chilufya Tayali has charged that his party has established that the Post Newspaper was liquidated fraudulently.

Mr Tayali says his party has conducted a review of the process of liquidating the tabloid newspaper and has come to a conclusion that its liquidation has nothing to do with failure to pay taxes.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Tayali saidTayali Fire the findings in fact point to an act of injustice and tyranny on the party of the Patriotic Front government.

He says the review of the liquidation process has established that the entire process was allegedly a collusion of people that earlier wanted to shutdown the Post Newspaper.

He his party does not see how monies said to be owed to five employees can lead to the liquidation of a big company that employed over 2000 workers.

Mr. Tayali adds that his party has also taken note that the due procedure of liquidating any company as provided for by the law was followed in the case of the Post Newspaper.

He states that his party therefore calls on the Chief Justice Irene Mambilima and the Judicial Complaints Commission to institute investigations into the manner in the Post newspaper has been liquidated.
