Advocacy against Child Abuse and Gender Based Violence has expressed concern that despite many efforts the nation is making towards curbing GBV in the country, the vice has continued to rice.

Advocacy Executive Director Bellion Chola tells QTV News that his organization is saddened that a Lusaka husband last night beat up his wife with a hummer in the head.

Mr. Chola has identified the victim as Regina Mwiche, 26, who has been married for two years to Thomas Zulu was beaten up by her husband on suspicion that she is having an affair with another man.

He says many campaigns have been held and are still being championed to make sure that the nation curbs this vice.

He explains that he visited the victim at the hospital and wondered how and why a husband who vowed to love and care for her can later turn into an abuser and strip off a wife’s self confidence.

Mr. Chola says the woman is in a critical state and she has since been referred to the highest hospital.

He hopes that the police will arrest the suspect and face the full wrath of the law.
