Think of another reason a woman could be wearing a white dress and making her dad “so happy” besides getting married. If you can’t think of anything … we might have a married Miley Cyrus on our hands.
The pop star and her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, haven’t set a date yet to say “I do” (are they even re-engaged?), and their laissez-faire ways made it seem like there was no rush. However, her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has given people reason to believe they’ve already tied the knot.
In a recent Instagram post, the country crooner shared a photo of a tablet screen with an image of the 24-year-old on it. In the photo, which seems to show Miley at her current age, she is beaming and wearing white.
Although only the top half of the ensemble is visible, it’s more than likely based on her past sartorial preferences that she’s wearing a loose peasant-style dress with lace detailing on the chest and sleeves, something the bohemian singer would totally rock down the aisle. Her blond locks were blowing in the breeze (the style she’s currently sporting), and she was smiling with her eyes closed.
Billy Ray’s caption read, “I’m so happy…you are happy @mileycyrus.” The cryptic message led many in the comments to speculate about why she could be in such a good mood. Did she start recording a new album? Did she … ya know … get married? Or did she simply get a new dog? All reasons to be happy, but only one is going to send her fans (and Hemsworth’s, for that matter) into a tailspin.
“Wait what? Omg did she get married to liam omg if so CONGRATULATIONS TO @mileycyrus and @liamhemsworth,” one fan wrote. “Is it a wedding?????? Tell me yes pleaseeeeeee ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????,” said another. “But Why I’m not invited ?” cracked a third. Many followers were very emotional about the possibility of Miley already married. “SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS IM CRYING,” one fan remarked. “Billy Ray DON’T play with our FEELINGS,” someone else commented. One commenter didn’t need anything but some emojis and question marks to express his or her feelings.
Clearly, people are freaking out. However, a few investigative Instagrammers pointed out that it’s kind of impossible. “YOU’LL CHILL MILEY IS IN HIMALAYA DOING A PHOTOSHOOT !!!! SHE IS NOT GETTING MARRIED LOL,” said one. “You’ll really think she’ll get married secretly ??!!! And Liam is in Malibu so with whom she’ll get married ? ????” echoed another. A third pointed out that their families aren’t even in the same country at the moment. “Um Chris and Elsa are in Australia…so pretty sure Liam and Miley wouldnt get married without them ????????????????.”
While all these commenters make good points, Miley’s current location is unconfirmed. The couple were spotted together in Malibu just a few days ago.
So … it seems anything is possible.
