Immigration Department nabs Capital Hotel Manager

The Department of Immigration has arrested an Indian national in connection with the facilitation of the unlawful stay in Zambia of forty-one (41) Indians.

Charles Matthew Makaliki 41, Manager of Capital Hotel and resident of house number B4/45/4 Kalingalinga, Lusaka was arrested on Wednesday, 8th March, 2017 at Woodlands Police station where he had presented himself upon learning that he was being sought after by Immigration.

Department of Immigration public relations officer Namati Nshinka says the Department on 19th February, 2017 apprehended thirty–nine (39) Indians at Capital Hotel, off Mumbwa road, in Lusaka and later arrested two (02) others

Mr Nshinka says some of those arrested had forged Employment Permits in their possession whilst others either did not have any documentation or had overstayed.

Meanwhile, the Department between Monday, 6th March, 2017 and Wednesday, 8th March, 2017 arrested a total of twenty (20) persons for various immigration offences.
