Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says the country has secured huge investments in trade and development cooperation opportunities arising from foreign Presidential trips and visits of foreign Heads of State to Zambia.

Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says this will culminate into job creation which will improve the quality of life for the Zambian people.

In a Ministerial statement to parliament on the President’s International trips, Mr. Kalaba says Zambia will continue to reach out to the international community in order to realize maximum benefit for the country towards sustainable development.

He says the active participation of the Head of State at regional, continental and global levels will promote Zambia’s foreign policy and advance the country’s interest through interactions and engagements at bilateral and multilateral levels.

Mr. Kalaba has also told the house that four Israeli Medical Missions will travel to Zambia between May and June in order to assist Zambia in specialized medical fields such as comprehensive emergency response service.

He says the Israeli Medical Missions will also provide cardiac services, perform cardiac surgeries on children with heart disease and compliment government’s effort in setting up a cardiac surgical service centre.

Meanwhile Mr. Kalaba has disclosed that Zambia will host the Centre for Diseases Control (CDC) for Southern Africa which will be one of the five regional collaborating centres on the continent.

He states that this is a grand achievement as state of the art laboratories will be built and provide first hand information and solutions in disease control while creating employment for the people of Zambia.
