Police nab another fugitive of post-election violence in Namwala

Police in Namwala have arrested another fugitive of the post-election violence in 2016 who has been elusive for the past five months.

Southern province Police Commissioner Bonnie Kapeso says Clement Musulwe, aged 31, alias Mwanamalumbwe of Maala village bonnie Kapesoin Chief Mungaila’s chiefdom in Namwala district was arrested yesterday by alert Police officers at Namwala’s Niko area.

He says Mwanamalumbwe becomes the second suspect to be nabbed following the arrest of the mastermind, Dickson Kashimbula, 36, who was also apprehended by the police following a spate of 2016 post election violence which left many people injured and property destroyed in Namwala district.

Mr. Kapeso says Mwanamalumbwe was one of the closest lieutenants to Kashimbula, the post election violence mastermind.

He has appealed to other suspects wanted for the same offences, including Bruce Kapoto, to surrender themselves to the Police as a sign of respect for the law.
