MOF, EU seals K100M financing agreement

The Ministry of Finance and the European Union (EU) have signed a new financing agreement worth 10 million Euros approximately K100 million for support to the National Authorizing Officer (NAO).

The financing agreement is meant to support the NAO, which is the coordinating unit of the European Development Fund (EDF) in Zambia, with both financial and technical assistance.

Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka today, Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba thanked the EU for ensuring effective coordination of the EU- Zambia cooperation.

Mr. Yamba has implored the NAO to ensure the support being provided under the signed financial agreement is utilized in the most efficient and coordinated manner.

Earlier, EU head of delegation, Alessandro Mariani said the support to the NAO will strengthen the capacity of the Zambian government in implementing EU funded programs.
