Beston-chambeshi 1Zambia U-20 Coach Beston Chambeshi has advised his players against complacency following their 6-1 victory over Mali on Wednesday.Chambeshi said told the media in a post match interview that he was happy with qualification to the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup which takes place in South Korea from 20 May to 11 June but added that the job at the tournament had not been completed.

On the back of a 1-0 win over Guinea, Zambia thrashed Mali with an emphatic 6-1 victory, the two results that sent them into the semi finals and consequently handed them a place in Korea becoming the first African team to do so.

A brace apiece from Fashion Sakala and Edward Chilufya and goals each from Enock Mwepu and Emmanuel Banda sealed Zambia’s semi final and world cup place before a sell out crowd.

Mali got their consolation goal through Abdoul Dante.

“I am happy for the team to qualify to the world cup, but I am looking at the next game. It is important to go further in this tournament,” said the cool natured Chambeshi.

“We cannot talk about Mali because we have beaten Mali; going to the final is another step. We are looking at the games ahead of us.”

Chambeshi said that the technical staff will review the game that Zambia played and see what can be improved ahead of the match against Egypt on Saturday.

“We cannot say because of this score line we are on cloud nine; we will look at the performance of the team and how the boys have played today tactically we were good. We hope even next time we go back to the same spirit.”

The former Chipolopolo international paid tribute to his side’s fight from behind spirit to win the match.

“I am happy with the way the boys played, Mali is a good side but tactically we were above them,” he said.

Chambeshi thanked the supporters for rallying behind the team in all the matches the host nation has played.

Zambia will finish top of Group A even if they lose their final group match with Egypt on Saturday.
