The Foundation For Democratic Process (FODEP) has advised local government minister Vincent Mwale to ensure the management boards which will be appointed to run markets and bus stations are free from political influence.

FODEP executive director Mweenge Chimfwembe says politicians should not be allowed to hijack the boards.

Mr. Chimfwembe has also advised the minister to align the boards to the ward development committees which are on the ground.

He has further noted the need for the markets and bus stations to be run in a transparent manner and in the best interest of the marketeers.
