Advocacy against child abuse and gender based violence Executive Director Bellion Chola is concerned by the failure of some parents and guardians to protect children.

Mr. Chola says increasing cases of children being abandoned or chased from home are worrying.

He says his organization is currently keeping a girl identified as Joyce Namushi aged 9, from Kalabo district of western province who came to visit her relatives in Mtendere and was chased by her uncle.

Mr. Chola says parents and guardians have a responsibility to take care of the children by protecting and loving them.

He states that it’s unfortunate that churches, schools and homes are no longer safe for children.

Mr. Chola has since called for a change of mindset by parents and guardians by safeguarding the interests of the children.
