Kantanshi Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba has commended Mopani Copper Mines for recalling some of the ex-miners who were retrenched.
Mr Mumba says the move will help in reducing poverty in his constituency.
He has since advised other mining companies to emulate what Mopani Copper Mines has done and help supplement government efforts in alleviating poverty.
And Mr Mumba is happy with the ongoing negotiations for improved conditions of service for miners at Mufulira mine between Mopani Copper Mines management and the unions.
He has told QTV that he is confident that this will help in maintaining industrial harmony at the mining firm and ensure the mine operates smoothly.
