Confusion rocks UPND in Eastern Province

Confusion has rocked the opposition UPND in Eastern Province as party members jostle for party positions.

Reports reaching Qfm News from the Province suggests that the UPND has since with immediate effect disbanded the party’s Chipata District youth wing.

Reports further suggest that the opposition political party has also suspended two of its District officials Dennis Zimba and Mako Phiri with immediate effect.

Eastern province UPND Chairperson Paul Thole is said to have announced the suspension yesterday.

But when reached for a comment by telephone, UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma told Qfm News that the party secretariat has not yet received official communication over the reported suspensions.

Mr. Kakoma says the party leadership however, assumes that the reported disbandment of the Chipata District youth wing is a matter that is being dealt with at district level.
