Krmpotic demands victory against Ngozi

Zesco United coach Zlatko Krmpotic has demanded that his side win both home and away legs of their forthcoming 2017 Caf Confederation Cup tie.

The Zambian club will face Le Ngozi Messager from Burundi in the first round in March.

“We have respect for every opponent we will meet but, we must win both games. We have 90 minutes at home and another 90 minutes away, to make sure of that,” Krmpotic said.

“We have to go to win the first and second leg, because this is a very important game for Zesco and for us to go into the group stage.

“I expect them to give a 100 percent over the two legs.”

Zesco, who reached the 2016 Champions League semifinals, enjoyed a preliminary round bye in this year’s Confederation Cup.

They will face a Ngozi side, that overturned a 2-1 first leg away loss, to KVZ of Zanzibar on February 12, to win 3-0 at home on February 18, to ensure their first round date with Zesco.

Zesco will be home in the first leg, on March 11 in Ndola and travel to Bujumbura on March 19 for the final leg decider.

Winner will advance to the last 32, where they will be drawn against pre-group stage losers, from the Caf Champions League for a place in May’s group phase.
