Government has reversed the 100 percent increment in exam registration fees and subject fees imposed by TEVETA institutions.

Higher Education Minister Professor Nkandu Luo has assured students in the 25 TEVETA institutions in the country that the examinations fees remain the same and that no one should force them to pay the new fees.

Prof. Luo says government will not accept increments from TEVETA or any other public institution that are not clearly justified.

She urges institutions to find other meaningful ways of generating income for their institutions and not through student over enrollment and over charging.

Prof. Luo says it is for this reason that government is introducing skills Levy to help regulate how the institutions are run.

And Prof. Luo says the construction of Universities have progressed because government released 70, thousand kwacha towards the construction of the universities across the country.

She says she will report contractors who have disappeared from sites at Kasiya and Nortec to the Ministry of Home Affairs so that they can investigate further as to why they disappeared.
