Govt is committed to addressing challenges facing youths – Mawere

Youth and Sport Minister Moses Mawere says government is committed to addressing the challenges facing youths in the country.

Mr. Mawere says government is aware that young people are facing a number of challenges and is coming up with interventions to support young people so that they turn out to be responsible adults.

He says some of the programmes the ministry has put in place to support young people include the quick win programme, the youth policy and the national action plan which are guiding documents on how to support and empower the youth in the country.

Mr. Mawere adds that government is aware that the majority of the population is compromised of children and youths, hence the need to ensure that the challenges they are facing are addressed.
