Seven people arrested for operating illegal drug outlets

A combined team of Inspectors from the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA), Officers from the Zambia Police and Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC ) has arrested 7 people for selling medicines without certificates of registration.

The seven were also arrested for failing to keep records contrary to the Medicines and Allied Substances Act No.3 of 2013 of the laws of Zambia.

ZAMRA Public Relations Officer Ludovic Mwape in a statement says this was in an operation conducted in Lilanda, George and Chazanga compounds in Lusaka.

Mr. Mwape says those arrested have been detained and will appear in court soon.

He says various medicines including GRZ medicines worth thousands of kwacha have been seized from these illegal drug outlets.
