Senior FDD Member demands convention
A senior FDD Member has demanded that the party leadership should not change its position on holding the pending party convention.
Last year FDD spokesperson Antonio Mwanza announced that the party will hold its convention on February 24th and 26th.
But Crawford Mukando, who is also FDD losing Chitambo Member of Parliament candidate, feels that the party leadership is not showing seriousness in terms of holding a convention by way of changing dates.
Mr. Mukando says he is aware that there is a cartel in the party which is planning to cancel the holding of a convention by withholding on to funds so as to give an excuse that there is no money for the convention.
He says this is a sign of desperation by some party members who don’t want to pave way for other party members to take other positions in preparation for the 2021 general election.
