Constitutional lawyer Sakwiba Sikota says the review of the amended Constitution should be handled with sober MINDS.

Mr. Sikota says verbal exchanges between opposing sides over some provisions of the Constitution that need to be looked at will not help the country move forward in any way.

He tells QTV News that stakeholders should discuss a particular provision of the Constitution and reach consensus of how it should be reviewed.

Mr. Sikota who is also United Liberal Party (ULP) president says this is the best way provisions such as the 14 days in which the Constitutional Court is supposed to hear a presidential petition should be reviewed.

He says if such a provision is to be reviewed, what should be considered is whether or not there should be an extension of time to hear a presidential petition.

Mr. Sikota says this is bearing in mind the repercussions of the country staying a long period of time without a substantive Head of State as the petition is being heard.
