President Edgar Lungu has been cautioned against allowing the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) turn into a voiceless association under his tenure.
Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) is urging President Lungu to do so particularly that he is a lawyer.

TIZ president Lee Habasonda says his organization wants President Lungu to appreciate that if LAZ is forced to operate amidst political attacks the law profession in Zambia will not be respected.
Mr. Habasonda says the TIZ is therefore calling upon President Lungu to ensure that there are no further unnecessary ridicule and political attacks on the association.
In an interview with QTV News Mr. Habasonda states that his organization believes that by being part of the law profession and Head of State, President Lungu is better placed to protect LAZ.
Mr. Habasonda states that the expectation of the TIZ is therefore that President Lungu’s tenure proves to be a legacy where LAZ will rise to higher height.
