Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says Zambia cannot afford not to have President Edgar Lungu open up other avenues abroad for accessing funding.

Mr. Kalaba says this is especially in the wake of challenges the country is now facing in accessing resources from traditional allies.

In an interview with QTV Mr. Kalaba has disclosed that countries in the Middle East have now become Zambia’s strategic partners which he says it needs to work with closely.

Mr. Kalaba says this is if the Country is to draw advantages from such partnership in view of the much need growth in its Agriculture and Health sectors.

He states that this means that the state visits to such strategic partners which President Lungu has been making as the Country’s number envoy and diplomat are very critical.

Mr. Kalaba says Zambia will not get the best from its strategic partnerships if President Lungu stays away from making state visits.
