The Ruling Patriotic Front has maintained that it has no intentions to revert this country into a one party state as alleged by some opposition political parties.

PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says the intention the ruling party has is to strengthen the multi party democratic dispensation because the provision of checks and balances under such a dispensation helps government to perform.

Mr. Bwalya says it is not possible to turn the country into a one party state.

Mr. Bwalya says it is for this reason that article 4 of the 1990 constitution was amended to pave way for the formulation of other political parties.

He says since it is not the PF who reverted the country to multipartism adding that it is impossible to turn the country into a one party state.

Mr. Bwalya adds that even if the PF wanted to it is not possible.

He says attacking the judiciary does not mean that the ruling government wants to revert the country into a one party state.
