The Confederation of Trade Unions in Zambia (COTUZ) says it is vindicated when it warned that the political violence that some political parties were engaging in would backfire at some point.

COTUZ President Joe Kamutumwa says the nullification of some parliamentary seats should serve as a lesson to all political parties that think violence is the solution to ascending into office.

Mr. Kamutumwa says the negative part of violence is the fact that it is costly as there is now a possibility of redoing the elections in the constituencies were seats are nullified by the High Court.

He says it is frustrating to many people to be taking most of their time voting saying they are now forced to go back into the election mood again.

Mr. Kamutumwa has since observed the need for the nation to seal all loop holes in the constitution so as to avoid such occurrences.
