The Zambia Youths in the fight against Corruption (ZYAFAC) has opposed plans by some lawyers to form another legal body saying the current Law Association of Zambia is enough to offer the much needed legal advice.

And the organization says there is nothing wrong for some stakeholders to criticize the judiciary saying even the other two arms of government which are the executive and legislature are criticized when they make wrong decisions.

ZYAFAC Acting Executive Director Maurice Malambo says there are some decisions that the courts have made that leave much to be desired.

Mr. Malambo says a lot of people may recall how the Constitutional Court handled the election petition that was filed by the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and his Vice Geoffrey Mwamba saying both the PF and opposition UPND cried foul over some decisions that the court made.

Meanwhile, Mr. Malambo has advised LAZ President Linda Kasonde to be fair when issuing statements and not to be seen as being biased.

He says when the UPND lost the election petition case in the ConCourt, the party issued disparaging remarks against the judges who presided over the matter and that the LAZ President was quiet when the people expected the association to defend the judiciary.
