The opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) is concerned with President Edgar Lungu’s frequent movements.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says while they are not against the President moving, they are concerned with the frequency and the seriousness of the meetings.

Mr. Mwanza says they have not seen other presidents coming for a state visit to Zambia but that Zambia’s president is always the one going out.

He says his party is of the view that some of the meetings the President is attending can be delegated to government officials in those countries.

He says Presidential trips come with huge costs and thus the need to minimize and take only those that junior officials cannot attend.

Mr. Mwanza states that minimizing on the trips will help the country save on the much needed resources.
