Zambians were on trial in 2016 – Mutesa

mutesaThe opposition Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) has described the year 2016 as a good start for improving upon Zambia’s good governance record.

ZED President Frederick Mutesa says this is given the fact that the Zambian people have this year managed to usher in a new government under the amended Republican Constitution.

Dr. Mutesa notes that this is notwithstanding the uncertainty this year’s general elections created as a result of the amendments made to the Country’s Constitution.

In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Mutesa says ZED has observed that following the Court process that proceeded the general elections, President Edgar Lungu and his administration are settling in well.

Dr. Mutesa says his party believes that pronouncements that have been made so far with respect policy direction and revamping of the Country’s economy will yield positive results if adhered to.

He says his party is also satisfied with pronouncements by President Lungu on the issue of corruption.
