KK Airport upgrade works on course – Chitotela

Works and Supply Minister Ronald Chitotela say works on the modernization of Kenneth Kaunda International Airport have reached an advanced stage and will be completed on schedule.

Mr Chitotela has told Parliament in a ministerial statement on the progress made on the construction project that overall works for the whole project currently stand at 33 percent complete.

He says the project has so far created over 1, 000 skilled and unskilled jobs for Zambians and187 for Chinese nationals of which 135 are specialized staff.

Mr. Chitotela says the numbers of Zambian workers on the project is expected to increase as the works progress.

 Mr. Chitotela has assured the Zambian people that the government is keen to ensure that the Kenneth Kaunda international Airport expansion project is carried out as planned.
