Zesco United coach George Lwandamina, insists they will serve up an interesting Barclays Cup final with Zanaco, despite the two draws that have separated them in the league this season.

Defending champions Zesco, were held to a 0-0 away draw by the current league leaders on Saturday, at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka after earlier finishing 1-1 in the first leg meeting in Ndola in May.

Saturday’s match was a prelude to the two sides’ upcoming Barclays Cup final clash, to be played at a date to be set by the Football Association of Zambia.

“No, it will not be the same. This is the league and that is a different tournament with different motivations and you cannot see it finishing in a draw,” Lwandamina said.

Meanwhile, the draw left Zesco still in 4th position on 50 points, fifteen behind Zanaco after 22 and 28 games played respectively with four rounds left before the 2016 league season comes to a close.

“It was a tough game but we had more scoring opportunities,” Lwandamina said.

Zesco have now failed to beat Zanaco in three successive league games and in 2015 lost 4-0 in Ndola to the latter in their final leg top-flight meeting of that season on October 30.
